Larry J Cavender, ASLA has practiced Landscape Architecture for twenty years.  He has operated as a sole proprietor, since 2005.  Prior experience includes twelve years with a landscape design and construction company working on residential and commercial projects.  He is licensed as a Landscape Architect in Washington and Oregon and is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Larry J Cavender, ASLA  approaches each project as an artistic endeavor.  The art and craft of garden design is illustrated in many of the projects shown in this portfolio.  We collaborate with local craftspeople, such as masons, metalworkers, woodworkers, landscape contractors and gardeners to bring practical and beautiful solutions to fruition.

We have extensive experience working within a design/build structure.  We are able to communicate and work closely with landscape contractors and subcontractors during construction to insure design integrity.  Our design process also involves active, ongoing communications with the client as the project progresses.

Initial meeting - Typically no charge to customers in the Portland metropolitan area.

Site Inventory and Analysis

Depending on the size and complexity of the project, a surveyor may be employed to draw up the site plan.

Schematic Design

1. •Conceptual plans and sketches.
